Senior Resource Group (SRG)

General Information

Vision: Explore new avenues of growth and change, reflecting the needs of all SRG members, through outreach, enhanced communication, member recruitment, and through increased partnerships with other VRPS Organizations & Committees, Resource Groups & Service Areas.                                                               

Mission: To provide an opportunity to unite leisure professionals, colleagues, associates, and students, through creative networking, educational opportunities, and VRPS events; while maintaining, for its’ members, an opportunity for leadership, growth, and volunteerism.

Purpose:  The Senior Resource Group of the Virginia Recreation & Park Society shall remain focused on fulfilling the directives, intent, and purpose of the SRG, and its’ Vision & Mission Statement, as stated with the SRG Bylaws, Article II.

Focus:  The main focus of the SRG Goals shall be education, outreach, and leadership.

 *2025 SRG Member Meetings will be held the 2nd Thursday of the month at 2:00 p.m., see the dates below.

Friday, May 2 - In-person, "Zen Day" at Beulah Recreation Center, 6901 Hopkins Rd, North Chesterfield.  

Thursday, June 12 - "The New Drug" presenter Becca Lynch, Administrator of You & Human Services via Teams.

Thursday, July 10 - No meeting.

Thursday, August 14 - Kathy Brown, Health & Wellness Program Coordinator with the SPAN Center will present on "Nutrition" via TEAMs.

Thursday, September 10 - In-person Training in Augusta, VA.  More details to come.

October VPRS Conference.

Tuesday, November 13 End of the Year SRG Celebration in-person at 2 p.m.  More details to come.

 

 

SRG Training at Loudoun County (Photo's below).  Thank you to Loudoun County for hosting a great fall conference.  It's always wonderful to network and get new ideas. Also, thank you to all who participated.
